Are we going to be able to create custom story lines, granted we learn whatever coding is needed?

While officially, storyline programming won't be supported until 4.0 IIRC, I don't see what is preventing a determined enough coder to hand script a whole story. It will be quite the script file, but it should be possible.

#include "init/brain/code/state/code_state_sex.dat" #include "init/brain/code/state/code_state_fitness.dat" #include "init/brain/code/state/code_state_sm.dat"

In fact, I really, REALLY want that scene to be an existing script that we can edit.

I don't see why creating our own storylines would be out of the question at all...but we won't know for sure until after 3.0 is out. For instance...if a modder were to create new 'settings' such as a different house, that could probably be loaded up as a level, populated with a new, Modded female, and then a 'story' scripted into existence with dialog, etc. Unless I'm thinking of everything wrong? Where did they mention storyline programming only being in 4.0? Basically the stories in the main game now are a series of 'scenes' that flow from one to the next. In Wet Dreams you have the 'chat' scene, then the meeting and photoshoot, then the second chat scene, going to meet Jenna, meeting tiffany, etc, etc, etc.... aterrizando wrote: MasterAaran wrote: Ok...So now i've got this idea in my head that we should make a 'delivery' storyline with a girl dressed like that showing up at the door. It's the cliche 'delivery/repairman' sex scene, but the delivery MAN is a delivery WOMAN.... Fuck that's hot (I'm easily amused ) The main character buys something on the online shop and then the girl not only deliver the toys, she also teach him how to use them. Wow, ok, so that's awesome...yes, I love it! Though a pizza girl would be hot too...

The only problem I see with the "pizza girl" is that the cliche in porn is that the woman getting the pizza is paying for it, or tipping, with sex. The sex toy delivery is more like an "extra services" thing, which I find more believable.

After trying all the toys but the double ended dildo, they are hungry and order pizza/chinese food/whatever.

True that XPadmin did say that was a planned feature of 4.0 a while back, but storyline programming and mod support were rolled back to the 3.0 release. That's mostly why the release date was pushed back 6 months from its original date. Originally 3.0 was just going to be a few more girls and some new storylines with some added improvements to the girls to make them more interactive.

That would make more sense considering the only real reason why storyline programming may not be officially implemented when modding is, would be due to the absurd length of the scripts if careful use of functions aren't properly used in the script to help streamline the storyline-making process. Granted, the scripting language does allow for user-defined functions, which (if all of this programming stuff means nothing to you) means that the 100+ line blowjob script that xpadmin showed off would only need to be fully written out once in the code, and only one line would need to be written for each time the author of the story wants to utilize the blowjob script, in turn making script file sizes much smaller. I swear, I'm going to be doing nothing come winter break except for trying to learn everything I can about the scripting engine in 3.0.

Well lucky for us XP also mentioned he will post an example of a mod for the scripting. I assume this means a storyline mod as well. So we don't have to write it from scratch. There will be a basic storyline template that we can edit. Once you learn what each chunk of code in that template does, it will be as easy as adding dialogue, then copy, paste and swap around code. All you really need to lean is where it begins and where it ends for each chunk. He spoke of doing the same with the models. posting a blank template model, of course that's not going to be AS easy lol, but still very very helpful =) (i get bored being nocturnal, come here and read all the threads when i cant sleep. Hence all my necroposting. XD) I think its going to be pretty easy, all it is, is calls for animations, commands and responses. If you have a custom animation I'm sure there is going to be way to do that. As of now its still unclear if they plan on making an in-game scene choreographer for script based animations or if were going to have to just make them in maya and tweak them till they line up. Maybe they'll be a 4.0 feature.
