fresh install unpacking and when I put the mod my game crashes when clicking story in the menu

Crashes could be caused by existing saves from different mod, or even from the clean game.
If you have crashes, try to remove your saves (backup them first!). A recommendation to every MOD: To prevent these types of crashes, change the save name in story.txt (line containing save = "save/save_td_nerd.dat";). For example, change it to save = "save/save_tdex_nerd.dat"; and crashes should be gone. |

New version released. The startup crash should hopefully be fixed + I've also included a set of save game files so that you don't have to play through the game again.

i tried using this and it caused severe memory leak with the game
it crashes before i even get to the elevator and dungeon mode i slow as hell before it crashes too |

It sounds like this is what's happening. Downloading/Installing patch 1 via your account manager should sort things out.
