So it has recently been brought to my attention that my version was out of date. the game appeared to run fine so i didn't pay it much mind, the other day I was messing around with the halloween pack and noticed i had no option to remove the dress.. i decided to try and redownload and reinstall everything so i'd be up to date.
After all the updates i ran the game and checked my trace it showed Version: (3.5.0015) where previously it has shown Version: (3.5.0006). When i got in game i noticed a huge boost in performance and they sped up the speed of the main character. So if you haven't looked at your trace in a while it's well worth looking at. Make sure you back up your plugin folder and just reinstall everything overtop. I didn't think i needed to update but i'm Very glad i did.

@Nautica The latest version has DirectX 11 support, that can give a large performance boost. Thanks for the feedback!

If i would like to do this, what about the modded packs? i mean, the packs i've extracted with filemaker and modified a bit (including classic pack_dungeon), can i just save them with my plugins and copy/paste them after the recently fresh install? or shall i unpack every pack again after fresh install? I'm also interested in a boost of performance

@linoleum84
Best is make a copy of complete game directory.
So when after install things don't work, you can still play older version (make shortcut on desktop e.g.)

It doesn't work I've installed game normally but it does not launch anything after install, and i have 3 opened tasks in task manager, unable to end them in order to uninstall / reinstall again, i rebooted my computer. Then i tried to install in administrator mode and had no more luck, when i try to start "XStoryPlayer64.exe" i just have 3 "XStoryPlayer64.exe" running and unstopable in task manager, and no game launched I have directx 11 if it helps...

Try this: -reboot (don't try to start the game after reboot) -uninstall / delete the game (there should be no processes in task manager at this point) -reinstall the game

Thx Riftporn but that's what i've already done twice... Install file takes a lot of time to launch, installation works properly, and when i start the game nothing happens. I even tried to install through AccountManager

If you reboot and you see the xstoryplayer process under the process tab in task manager you maybe have it in autostart or something?
What you describe is exactly what happens if you try to install the game when the game is actually running. Edit: Also paste your trace.txt from the game folder

Please make sure Avast! allows XSP to run. If this is not the cause please send the trace.txt to the support section: http://www.xmoonproductions.com/support/
