According to Xpadmin, the maps of the game will now be interconnected. Meaning that you can walk to instead of cross fading to that new location. I decided to take a quick crack at it. And then remembered that I'm horrible at map design so I just when with something based off the X-Moon logo. Attachment: logo layout octogon.png [ 13.69 KiB | Viewed 22706 times ] Now that map is largely incomplete with nothing but roads on there, and it doesn't even have an actual scale. This is mainly because I don't know how big the buildings in the game need to be. Plus, I keep arguing with myself what should go in the center. The player's apartment building? A city park? The XMU campus? A Lake? I also keep asking myself, what is the local geography of X-Moon City? From a technical standpoint, I find myself wanting the city an oasis in the desert. That way, the inside of the city could have all the plant life it wants and outside of the city could be easy to render flat land. There could be a rail way that passes through or near the edge of the city, to explain how people travel to and from the city. |

Maybe an airport as well, also maybe a subway system for travelling between the various places in the city. |

Munky wrote: Maybe an airport as well, also maybe a subway system for travelling between the various places in the city. Hm... An small airport for biplanes and private jets maybe. One that could accommodate air liners though would probably be too much. We don't have real scale yet for X-Moon City yet thought make that kind of judgement though... As for a subway system, there is no reason not to have one in X-Moon City, it would add to the atmosphere. But to my knowledge, the option to use the City View menu to move from place to place will still be in place in version 3.0. So any subway terminals put in the game probably would not be "fully functional" at first. It there were functional mass transit system in X-Moon City, I'd personally want it to be an elevated rail. So you could see where in the city you actually are. Though that would probably be hell on the game's physics engine. So a "stationary" train car going through a "moving" subway tunnel would probably be more stable. Plus it would remove any time limits that you would have on the train should any sexy shenanigans break out. |

I like the idea of a campus-centric city. It makes sense from the perspective that the college is going to be the final/ultimate version of the game, and IMO, a player-centric city just doesn't feel real in anyway. I really hope they put some basic driving mechanics in the game, just so (if you wanted to), you could pick up a girl in your car and drive her around instead of just fast traveling (and you could mod it to be anything from a Lamborghini to a unmarked white utility van). As for local geography, I always imagined it as being GTA-like, whereby it's a densely populated city surrounded by water on all sides. |

I've decided to make my layout a bit more detailed. Attachment: xmooncitybasiclayout.png [ 43.32 KiB | Viewed 22516 times ] -Again, there is no real scale here. -The City is surrounded by desert. -The blocks with horizontal bricks are for general building placement. -Railroad tracks run through the city's northeast area. -The southeast area is for the placement of the city's airport. If an airport isn't really necessary, this area could be changed to be more general building placement blocks or removed entirely. -The green areas are park lands. -I still don't know what to do with the center areas. |

Perhaps City Hall in the center of the map. Also the following building come to mind. 1. XM Campus 2. XM Scool 3. Public Pool. 4. Sports Stadium 5. R&D Facility near Campus 6. Train Station 7. A Shopping Mall 8. A Gym The various other domiciles including a college dorm and frat house. Just a few essential building for the story line also if SW corner of the city be close to a sea shore perhaps a small marina. Just a few suggestions ![]() |
