I can't get the gym cleaned on day 1. I'm not certain I found all the garbage. Were is each piece? And how do you sweep? Do I just pick up the broom and walk with it?

you just need to find and trash 4 garbages. each time you do bob ( you) thinks something like " X more to go"
not sure but here is what i remember:
- one in the room on the right of the entrance
- one in the begining of the main room
- one at the " meeting spot" far in the main room
- one in the locker zone.

Yeah, I found all of those. In fact, I thought I counted five garbage. His last thought was something like "I'm not finished yet" or "almost done" or something like that. And what about the broom?

You can use the broom to sweep most of the garbage at once. It needs some practicing though but when you get used to it, it will be helpful.

Yep that's pretty much it + when you get to the sweeping bit just keep going till the game tells you to stop.

I have found 6 pieces of garbage on day 1. 1 in the first room on the right, 1 on the wooden floor before the main room, 1 in the main room, 1 up in the lounge area and 2 in the locker room.

Even though I've successfully passed this part many times, I still don't really know the answer to this question.

Does the game want you to follow a path, cover X amount of the area, or just move around for X amount of time?

You need to sweep where Samantha can see you. You do not need to sweep much, just make sure you are close enough to make her look up at you. Make a pass or two then tell her "I'm done"

Oh... I've been sweeping the WHOLE level and just waiting until the little thought bubble said "I'd better tell her that I'm done".
