Hello and Good Evening,

got a question here about patches for the game.
I bought the game some days ago (Version 3.5), and now I downloaded and installed the older versions 2.1 and 3.0 as well.
I wanted to try some of the mods for 3.0 (e.g. Dungeon Ex), and some of them require the Beta Patch. Now i don't know where to download it, it's not in the list of my account manager, and many posts say i have to download it there.

Since the clean 3.0 install runs unplayable slow and it keeps crashing if modded (ERROR: Verify failed in file '.\app\story\cl_app_story_func.cpp', line 277: Error), i guess the patch is badly needed. Where can i get it?

Any hint or maybe a download link for the patch would be very appreciated.

Hint, it's irrelevant now. You don't need the patch, the version of xsp3 is already up to date. Look at your trace file, If memory serves me correct the patch brought us to version 3.0.0006, this version is 3.0.0007

this line should be in the trace if it isn't then you need to uninstall and re download version 3.

Version: (3.0.0007)

So that isn't the problem. By default the display settings are set to "ULTRA" you need to turn that down a bit. I'm guessing your computer may not be able to handle it. Either that or your installing the wrong version of a mod or doing it the wrong way.

Most of the mods here have been updated for 3.5, If you can specify which version of which mod exactly your having issues with we may be able to help you. Also copy and paste your trace file so we can better understand the hardware your using and the version of XSP your running

This is mine, yours should look fairly similar. My laptop is no beast, but i have no issues running this game on it.

Also something to note, if your new at installing mods. They run better when you just unpack the pack and install the mods in the folder, leave it like that don't re-pack it. and if you rename it only add to the name don't take the word "Pack" away.

In fact, repacking has been known to create problems.

Thanks for the infos so far. Didn't recognize the version number.
It was 3.0.0007 and i didn't repack anything, btw..

I now deleted the entire 3.0 folder and reinstalled, but this time not via the Account Manager, i started SetupFull3.exe directly from the download folder. I don't think that that really makes a difference though.

Weirdly, after unpacking the pack again and copying the mod files there it works so far.

Maybe deleting the entire folder before installing again was the needed solution.

Thanks alot again for the help though.
