have been playing x-story player without any trouble, re-stalled to latest version now when starting I'm getting an error
"this application has failed to start becuase dxgi.dll was not found"

Ok, fixed dxgi.dll error now I'm getting
"the procedure entry point _ftol2 could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll

man all this from just re-installing the game, what a pain in the ass.

The files you mention are normally available under Windows 7 and higher.

Are you by any chance using windows XP?

OS that been dead for over 1 year now, it is a 15year old OS.

You may have troble running new games on xp. If the videocard is old and I mean AGP videocards then it will also be an issue.

Anyway you should first edit the settings and choose DirectX 9 or opengl.

The missing dlls seem to be related to a directx version. See if you can update on xp.

I think msvcrt is an updated dll between xp and 7. You can google for this dll or ask a friend. Copy the dlls in the game folder (I think it can work)

But If you have an old computer but with 1G ram I suggest you move to 7. I tested and it works the same as xp, after I disable visual desktop settings things.

i fixed the problem, like you said i just installed the games onto another Drive i had that is running Windows 7, much easier then trying to update dll files and make XP play nice.

Video cards in my PC are 2 Nvidia Geforce 960 GTX at 2GB each using SLI Crossfire mode. graphics power
is never a problem for me, i have yet to find a game to cause me to overclock. even playing Love Party 0.4 I can run all
4 girls at once smooth as slick.
what can i say, online gaming freak for ya. More power!!!

windows xp want recognize any Directx version higher then 9c which was my problem since the latest update for the games
made Directx 11 the default, but problem solved, no worries.

and yes skidrow i know how old xp is, i just prefer xp to some the newer OS out.
