I'm not sure if I've asked this before, but I've decided that it worth its own thread. Especially now that that mid-clicking can be used to switch between hand control and mouse based walking control. But is it possible to have XSP recognize when 2 USB computer mouses have been plugged in, so that each mouse can be used to each hand? Or is it something that out of the question programming wise? Here's my idea. Step 1: Have two mouses plugged in to your computer. Step 2: Have XSP recognized both mouses as separate devices somehow. Step 3: Have the second mouse be mapped to the left hand controls. This way, you could have 2 cursors controlling 2 hands at once, have one mouse controlling walking and the other controlling which ever hand, or have one mouse controlling walking while the other mouse controls how the body leans over. (I miss being able to lean over by the way, but I'll get into that later when I have balanced my thoughts on the subject.) I don't think it's a secret that I want XSP to have a prehensile control system. There is only so much you can do when you're limited to only being able to manipulate one object or only one point of an object at a time. Just look at how much more control you get in 2.1 when you exploit the fact that spreader bar will magically attach itself when it get's close enough. Attachment:
File comment: Note that the shackles on the platform also does this behavior. I going to call these things MBEs or Magical Bondage Equipments from now one. ![]() Downloaded 862 times |

I don't think this is possible, actually. Windows can see more than one mouse, but doesn't know which one is being moved. |

The game Real Girlfriend from Illusion does this. Would be interesting in XSP were it possible. |

Okay, I decided to google "can windows detect 2 different mice" and I got linked to this. Is it possible to detect two different mice at the same time, and have their movements recorded seperately? That page also linked me to sample code software which revealed that yes, multi-mouse recognition is possible on Windows XP. Attachment:
File comment: It also revealed that I bought a new mouse for a reason. multi mouse test.png [ 22.67 KiB | Viewed 27177 times ] |

That page I linked to also mentions stuff being done on Windows 7. Try using that Mouse Party Sample code I linked to and see if it works, assuming you have second mouse laying around somewhere. |

@Pickledcow Hi there windows can detect dual mice. I have used it on both vista and windows 7. Illusion game Real Kanojo actually allows the use of dual mice in that game with webcam to detect face tracking as well. ![]() |

Oh I just though of something. How about the secondary Mouse's alt mode, be direct control of the hips, independent of walking entirely? ![]() |

Maybe it would be best to find a control mode where one hand can be free at all times ![]() |
