After all these years of waiting, periodically checking in, and holding out hope, it’s genuinely disheartening to hear that the very feature that set XStory apart seems to be fading away. It’s especially frustrating after being drip-fed small updates over the years that never hinted at such a big shift in direction.



I get that there are challenges, but Steam, for example, has supported adult content for a while now—it’s not like there aren’t platforms for this kind of work.



If the goal is to make something YouTube- and Twitch-friendly, that pretty much means leaving out anything truly adult. Making a shift to please content creators rather than focusing on the fans who’ve been here from the start feels like a real departure from what made the original games special.

At the end of the day, this just feels like a huge letdown for those of us who have stuck around all this time, waiting for more. Guess it’s finally time to let go of any hope for a game like the originals.

I had given up on it and moved on anyways. There are other games out there now that offer what XSP did and do it better so I'm okay. They are mostly VR games though, so if you don't have a VR headset the games aren't accessible.

I wish the devs the best of luck and hope they find success.
