Not sure if I was the only one, but for those still not able to play the lastest update in 3.5 use the account manager software and then click "open download folder" at the bottom and double click the exe file to get it to install.

As long as it is a separate patch creating a separate dungeon I suppose it is forever.
But better back up the installer or pack_dungeonh.bin file, the game updates usually freshes the pack folder.
