Post subject:  Interested in character modelling/modding

Hi all,

So I recently bought X Player (seems I am late to the party lol) and I am really enjoying it so far.
However, I would love to get involved with modding/modelling and maybe adding new characters for the community.

I do not have much 3d modelling experience, but I am keen and willing to break a sweat to learn :)

I was checking out some models on Turbosquid, and one caught my eye:
http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/fem ... bj/1012617
Seems pretty cheap for the quality of the model (looks high quality).

How easy would it be to import this (or something like it) into X Player? Also, if I was able to import it, would I be able to
make it available to others on the forum? (sharing the love).

Thanks,
Chad

Getting a character into the game is a bit of a pain

Find a mesh that looks good and has internals (mouth, vagina and ass) or add them in

1. import it into Maya and assign its textures
2. Align the mesh with the skeleton(try not to move the skeleton to much) and rig it and adjust the skin weights (time consuming to get it looking good)
3. Apply a skin collision over the top(this is a triangulated reduced poly version of your original mesh with uv maps the same as the mesh i think)
4. Make sure the collision shapes are in the right area
5. add/align deformers, teeth, eyes and fluid locations etc
(im missing something else im sure of it)
Use the file maker to export it out

6. Add clothing to it
7. Add it to the char_base
8. make an ini for it
8. Add it to the game

iv gotten most of this done just need to understand a few more things then i can write a better tutorial on how

Many thanks for the info Eskarn :)

I think I need to learn a lot more about modelling etc before I try to plug anything into this game lol

All the best,
Chad
