So anytime I delete a face or vertex in maya and run FM this is what I get: Started filemaker //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// // Parsing 'start.ini' //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Cannot convert maya file '../pack/pack_abducted/sources/scenes/character6_cloth/body.ma' : dressShape Cloth.physics failed to create cloth mesh, is it based on quads? (2), in file 'start.ini' at line 17 Help! |

A piece of cloth uses two meshes. The 'bind' mesh and the 'render' mesh. - The bind mesh: (e.g. dressBindShape) is the mesh used for colliding the cloth with the body. - The render mesh: (e.g. dressShape) is the mesh that is actually rendered and has more faces for better fitting. You cannot change the render mesh and e.g. remove vertices or faces. You have to change the 'bind mesh' and than derive a new 'render mesh' from it. To derive a new 'render mesh' from a 'bind mesh' do as follows: - Make a copy of the 'bind mesh'. - Apply the polygon command: 'Edit Mesh->Add Divisions' on the copied mesh (Exponentially, Div. level = 1). Now the copy is the new render mesh. Remove the old and rename the new one. Hope this helps. If you want me to take a look at the .ma and .ini files you are using send it to: admin(at)xmoonproductions(dot)org. |
