I've been getting confused as to the nature of the next update recently, and as such I have a few questions:

  • Is the next update 2.2, or 3.0?
  • How many (if any) new stories are we getting?
  • Are female orgasms going to be in the next update? (it only seemed sort of implied in the thread)
  • Can we get an update on the percentage completion? Unless the development has hit a snag, it seems to have not been updated since 55% or so for a while.

Hello TheMohawkNinja & Others

I hope this will answer your questions.

>> Is the next update 2.2, or 3.0?

Before the offbeatr project we were planning on releasing version 2.2.
Version 2.2 would be an update to improve elements from version 2.1.
Because the offbeatr project was successful we decided it was better to focus on version 3.0 with the new "tentacle dreams" story.
To first create version 2.2 and then start with version 3.0 would delay the next story too much.
Current users will be able to upgrade to version 3.0 (for a small extra fee).

>> How many (if any) new stories are we getting?

In the end we want 4 stories in XStoryPlayer bringing it to version 4.0.
After that we will proceed with the Black Moon Voyage story (also see offbeatr), which will probably be released in a separate game. This because it will be somewhat different from the dream story sequence.

>> Are female orgasms going to be in the next update? (it only seemed sort of implied in the thread)

Yes definitely.

>> Can we get an update on the percentage completion? Unless the development has hit a snag, it seems to have not been updated since 55% or so for a while.

We had some holidays and the creation of some scenes took somewhat longer than expected. So it is still on 55%. I do not want the percentage to go to 99% and then get stuck there for a long time. The percentage of 55% is realistic, so we are over the hill. But there is still a lot more to do.
I will add a video of some progress in the future again.

Best regards xpadmin

Thanks for the update, I figured you'd be skipping 2.2 and go straight for 3.0. Good luck with development, I'm looking forward to see what you've been working on.

Sounds good to me. I know I'll be upgrading to 3.0 as soon as it's available.

Take how long it took you to reach 55%, double that and subtract 10% and finally provide a solid date.

Um... You know how when you tell a computer to download a file and the ETA keeps changing. Making a computer game is kind of like that. The amount of work needed to complete 1 particular percentage point of progress is not consistency equal to the amount of work needed to complete every percentage point of progress.

The problem with solid date is that game development is not a steady track. Because productivity is not a steady track, you never know what's going to cause productivity losses or gains. Placing a solid release date on it would only serve as a reason to cut corners.

Take the Duke Nukem route and delay the date everytime you cannot reach the goal, its that simple. But I probably shouldn't complain because I was not able to contribute to the project, apologies.
