I think xpadmin/xmp has a different approach to "marketing" compared to most other software / game developers. They don't advertise their game, they keep everything on a low footprint. That's why people come here saying "can't believe I didn't know this game existed" I can clearly see they are dedicated to the game, not because they earn tons of money with it but just because it's what they like to do. I don't think they want to go rake in customers and in turn recruit more staff. I think xpadmin likes to code alone or in a cozy small team and doesn't want to build a large game development company. At least thats how I interpret some threads in this forum. Of course I can be totally wrong about this I bet you will see more information / screenshots / videos when the new release is near finished, like it has been the case for 3.0 and 3.5.

It's hard to market an adult game. There aren't many places to that will let you. That's why most of the time when your looking for an adult game review site you keep finding "Pay-per-review" sites that rate every game 10/10 and read like ADs, because that's all they are. A regular indie dev can give review copies to gaming youtubers to show to their audience, those are picked up by the gaming news sites and if it get's onto steam than that's advertising itself in a way. Which leaves the current tactic they are using, Making the game good enough that it spreads by word of mouth on forums. This forum is networking itself. A few developers have posted their projects in the Newly released adult games category. I think Xmoon should network with those games and others so every site has links to each other, all you need is a little page "our friends" kind of deal. Very common and effecting in the adult industry, just rare to see in adult gaming yet. eventually when there are enough games on the network someone opens a central forum. like hongfire just less Japanese focused. I know they don't advertise here and I do try to make sure every forum I visit has an Xstoryplayer thread. and even when i haven't made the thread myself i go in and check for unanswered questions about the game, drop some links to the demo and the forums.

Yeah, thats kinda why I put "marketing" in quotes There is social media, patreon and other adult gaming forums they could advertise on if they wanted to dedicate the time that needs. I feel like this is no longer OT though.

If you shoot for version 4 and give us the tools I am sure we can recreate content/story of earlier versions. Maybe even give props to the modders that do.
Also, if you are shooting for version 4 please consider a generic feedback system via a network port. One that is modeled after your game and not any particular hardware out there. Then the modders can add drivers to their own hardware and you will not have to. That in itself would make this game worlds apart from what is on the market. No hardware involved and less issues with any existing IP out there. All the patents I have found require more than software. You could even set the standard in the market for feedback systems.
Thanks for the update!

I would write it in Python as the code can be very simplistic. Maybe a JSON format so that it can be quickly decoded?

Maybe consider making a story that's free and releasing it with a demo because it was complete hell trying to find any information on this game. The only information about this game has to do with dolphins and the developers and some ancient screenshots and videos of the game that show the game being ultra buggy.
The upside of a demo is you don't ever need to update it with exception to maybe major optimization and such but beyond that the story would never need to be change or updated once its released.

Hi, My Question is, Is there any place where the devs post on what they are working on? I mean status updates? Or aren't they posting such things? I mean i've read enough to know that the newest version will take a while but, i think it is interessting to read about what devs currently doing and what their progress is Or maybe you guys have some information. Greetings,
