Good question. I think a separate forum for the mods is best. Something like 'mods.xmoonproduction.org'.
Also we want to add a wiki in which the modding is explained in more detail (wiki.xmoonproductions.org).
This, this is a good idea.
I was talking about this modding thing with
Malachai over in the '
I Know it's Taboo' thread. I suggested having either a subforum or another forum for the posting of mods.
Use a tag system to have people mark their mods when they post them, so people can see what they are getting into before they open the threads.

At the mod "forum", you should then be able to upload ".pack" files or links to public file servers where the packs are uploaded.
And add a description on what the mod does, and how it can be used.
The pack files are self contained units that can be placed in the pack directory by the user.
When the user restarts XStoryPlayer it automatically adds itself as a 'fast sex' element or as a story.
No worries about viruses because they only contain data and no binaries.
How to make ".pack" files will all be explained on the wiki (its pretty easy).
This, This is a very good idea! Having 'packs' that are loaded on startup are a very good thing. It keeps the mods self-contained and doesn't clutter up the directory structure in the file system.

We also think it would be a good option to allow adding packs to the account-manager. Especially for more elaborate packs.
Also a very good idea! Having a mod manager integrated into the account manager would be a good thing.

Also allowing modders to earn back their hard work by selling mods through our website is something that could be interesting.
NO. NO. NO. NO.

Do NOT sell mods... I completely understand wanting to compensate modders for the time and work that they put in, but if you have them sell the mods, when we have already paid for the software, you're going to make some users angry. I would suggest a couple of alternatives.
1. If the mod is hosted here, you can somehow open donations to the modder.
2. If the mod is hosted by the modder on his own website, etc...he can do whatever the fuck he wants.
I do not agree with giving free tools to mod a game, and then charging for the mods created. I Believe that all mods for all games should be on a free, donation only, basis.
I don't think that the Dev's should offer a platform to sell mods...But I suppose people can always charge for the mod elsewhere.
My above argument doesn't necessarily go for DLC. If the game devs themselves wanted to make a few addon packs and release them as a DLC that they charge, say...$1.99, etc...(just an example) That's fine.

But at first I would be very happy to see people use the software and create new things (even if they are just small adaptations like new textures, sounds etc).
We will see how things work out. But is does not hurt to think a head a bit.
Other ideas and suggestions in this area are welcome!
I'm really hoping that the modding for this game will be free and open. That it won't cost extra money to get access to the mods, etc.
One point I will ask the admin though: Do we have any idea what will be restricted content for mods? Or will there be any restrictions provided the mod is duly marked and warnings are put on the mod page?
