Make sure you use the right version, 32bit or 64bit, depending on your operating system.

And check that your computer meets the minimum requirements for the version you install.

Maya costs a lot of money $ 3675 for the full version. They also have subscription based, but that is still $ 185 per month, and when you stop paying, you don't have access anymore.

DEVELOPMENT PROGRESS: 73%

Just a 4% more but it looks as a huge step.

It's obviously understandable if you won't say either way, but out of curiosity, has the team grown at all, say, since the Offbeatr campaign?

We were able to hire some extra "hands" for helping out with modelling and texture design. These people have worked on the models on a freelance basis.

Regrettably it was not possible to find extra people to help with coding. Most people work with engines like Unity and are not used to coding in C++ directly.

We are putting a lot of effort in making "modding" possible. We hope this will speed up new releases after this (mayor) one.
This is also the mayor reason things take far longer then we hand hoped and expected. The current engine contains a lot of "in code" things that are now in scripts.

After this release people will be able to build their own scenes, models, cloth, scripting etc and create small stories. Also adaptation of the scenes and models in next release will be possible.

I hope it will make more people join once they get their hands on the new engine and are able to do things with it.

I will not pretend it will be easy to create a complete new story from scratch. But it will be possible and we will put a lot of examples and scripts on the forum to help doing new things.

Basically there will be three levels you can mod:

1) SIMPLE: Change textures, model parameters like skin color etc.
2) INTERMEDIATE: Change responses in scripts, add new sounds to responses, change the way a girl react to you.
3) EXPERT: Change models, create new objects.

The first 2 ones do not require 3-party software (besides image and text editor)
The third option does require Maya.

We will see how things go after the release.

That sounds great! I don't mind waiting, since so many amazing features will be included, so no pressure. And I really appreciate it that you guys are working so hard on modding and I think it's very good idea, because community can get much more involved and it makes the game just a lot more fun, when we'll be able to create our favorite stories.

Yay! We're getting down to the proverbial 'short strokes'.

I'm pretty sure that I speak for most of us when I say that if the devs need any playtesting down before 3.0 release, you have a huge pool of volunteers. :)

6 month starting from the 4th months, that the progression that was put out, so if ya can't wait then ya didn't read it, even ya did, it should of been known by now that the game won't come out until October in the beginning of the week or in the middle of the month of October.

That would really depend on the type of work being done as well. Right now, they could be working on some really hard, mindboggling stuff. And then finally be able to look for the bugs. And once they get that done and move onto the next scheduled bit, they might fly through it with ease.

But it's a good estimation. I look forward to the new version whenever it's finished. I have a bit of money stashed to get it as soon as I find it's available. Thankfully the Steam Summer Sale didn't destroy all my funds :p

would it kill them to give us a little something every week? some indication that things are being done? posts to facebook or twitter don't count.
