Three people are working on the game. I am working full-time on it. The others part-time (and in weekends).
I do most of the coding and some modeling. The others also the modeling, scripting etc..
We also have some freelancers for modeling, gui design, website, etc.

We tried hiring extra people, but it is hard to get good people that are willing to work for relatively low fees.
A lot of the good ones are already working for larger game studio's. Also working on adult games is also not every one's cup of tea.
Also most people are experienced in a specific game engine (most in Unity).

So it is not only an issue of money. The fact that Unreal 4 now is available for very low price also shows that competing against Unity is
pretty difficult for them. Most people are not building game engines, but using them. And the low priced Unity got a lot of people starting with that.

Building a new engine was the only option for us because the elements like full body fluid collision, undressing, natural language AI were not available (in other engines) when we started. Now new engine could have more of those features. So I will investigate if adding XStoryPlayer physics and AI to for example Unreal 4 will be possible in a later stage. It will make hiring people easier. For the X Moon University this could be an option.

But for now we will keep building XStoryPlayer in our custom engine, even though that regrettably takes more time.
Games like Wicked Paradise that planned to create a game using OR and Unreal 4 have not been released (will they be?).
Games like 3DXChat are nice (uses Unity Engine), but very different from XStoryPlayer (nice graphics, but less interaction with character body).

So we will also release XStoryPlayer 4.0 in the current engine. If XStoryPlayer is more widely used by then, hopefully we have the momentum to make a new larger step (by for example adding the XStoryPlayer features to another engine to be able to create a larger worlds).

What you have done with such a small team is really impressive.

If in the future you are going to use an external graphic engine, please take into account the Cryengine, maybe it's not as versatile as the UDK, but is cheaper (just 10 dollars and no royalties) and more powerful than Unity.

xpadmin can correct me if I'm wrong, but as I have come to understand it, changing an engine in a game isn't like changing an engine in a car, as you don't just get a change in performance, but the whole way the computer processes everything changes which can lead to a slew of bugs and crashes.

That being said... CryEngine is only $10? I would have expected it to be many times that due to what I've seen from Crysis.

Cryengine as a service is 10$ Monthly per user with no royalties, UE4 is 19$ monthly with a percentage of the revenues.

Changing the engine implies that a lot of your past work is scrapped and that you have to work hard on adapting the rest.

It's not easy, but it have some advantages.

Thanks xpadmin for your answer. I meant to ask how many people were actually working on it and who you would be (but wanted to check first if you already answered it before somewhere) ;)

I'm repeating myself, but you're creating something quite unique and we (I guess "we" and not only "me :D) are very happy to be part of the whole thing^^

:D I believe you all working hard. ah I would like to keep the game as close to the physics of the 2.1 game as possible. I thought that the 2.1 you all had was the best adult game graphics that I ever had seen. I just thought you all only needed to add AI and more touchy feel response to the game. New scenarios was not important for me. The doll in the game was must impressive to me add more features to the doll. The rest for me was secondary. You all adding scenarios is great thow. I have hard time trusting people anyway .. all I was saying if you all needed more money say so I like frankness..

I think its wonderful what yall done so far. I get impatient I'm sorry I think you all are doing great so don't worry you all will get it.

The 10$ Cryengine subscription is only for what they call "Games" and that does not include pornography, so you would loose your license as it would be a breach of ToS.
