I don't want to seem impatient or even annoying,but maybe you should finish the version 3.1,and then take 4.0?I think you should not squander your resources on parallel projects and finish an existing one,to bring it to the final version.
And release dates of the patch v 3.1 can be delayed even until the summer,but until the autumn.

Around 2 months until 3.1 eh? Thats god to here, even as a possible release time. I have to agree though. finish v3.1 before begining work on 4.0.
