@xpadmin

I have deleted and redownload the last path, even the game, now I have another error in filemaker:

Quote:
Cannot convert maya file '../pack/pack_character/sources/scenes/character6/body.ma' : .ed name2 begin-quote expected, in file '../pack/pack_character/sources/scenes/character6/body.ma' at line 458469, in file 'start.ini' at line 33

I don't know what to do :(

log and trace from filemaker attached.

EDIT:

Ok, I solver by my self, you need to change all texture paths in order to solve the issue (All proyect files are linked to xpadmin folders), to do this:
Open the Maya file body.ma and change all missing folders:

Save and done :D

Ok, I spend a few hours trying to edit a character mesh whitout lucky.
First all the meshes from char_template are deformed so, I can't edit them wihtout get errors.

I tried use the char_new (last wiki tutorial) but I can't run in test mode, followin the tutorial without edit anything else I get the following error when I execute the test scene (filemaker convert all fine):

Quote:

I've tried editing the body.ma using Maya 2016, with no luck, filemaker just exits very fast saying:

Code:
Cannot convert maya file '../pack/pack_character/sources/scenes/character7/body.ma' : File "fileName" expected, in file '../pack/pack_character/sources/scenes/character7/body.ma' at line 5, in file 'start.ini' at line 22

This is just an open scene and re-save in Maya 2016..

Also xstoryplayer (or filemaker?) doesn't seem to recognize bone scaling on butt_left/butt_right joints.
However this works fine on hip_left/hip_right. I managed to edit the .ma files using an text editor getting the results I wanted. Except for these butt joints.

Have not tested it in Maya 2016. It works in Maya 2015.

Ok the latest tutorialpack now gives me this only on character6: Character7 works ok...?

Code:
Started filemaker

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
// Parsing 'start.ini'
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Cannot convert maya file '../pack/pack_character/sources/scenes/character6/body.ma' : Filename 'c:/users/wiersma/appdata/local/x moon productions/xstoryplayer 3.5/pack/pack_character/sources/scenes/textures/character6/hair1.png', should start with srcPath 'd:/moon productions/xstoryplayer 3.5/pack/pack_character/sources/', in file 'start.ini' at line 33

you need to change texture path in maya.
or try to set project to your folder (sometimes works, sometimes don't work, don't ask why).

http://wiki.xmoonproductions.org/index. ... _new_scene
Code:
2 - Start Maya, set the the project path to the ./pack/pack_abducted/sources directory. Do this using the menu File-Project-Set.... This will make sure the textures in the scene are loaded correctly when opening the scene.

I found reason why Maya 2016 format fails. They added -typ "mayaAscii" parameter.
Maya2009 original:
file -rdi 1 -ns "faceSmile" -rfn "faceSmileRN" "scenes/character7/faceSmile.ma";
Maya2016:
file -rdi 1 -ns "faceSmile" -rfn "faceSmileRN" -typ "mayaAscii" "scenes/character7/faceSmile.ma";

There are only few lines at the start of .ma file cause parsing error.

Here poweshell command to fix that:

(Get-Content body.ma) | ForEach-Object { $_ -replace " -typ ""mayaAscii""", " " } | Set-Content body.ma
