The spammers use "real" people to circumvent the securities, so there is not a good solution to solve the problem. The flooding itself must be an automated process. I will look into tricks to prevent this. Sorry for the inconvenience. I know that the Kerbal Space Program Forum uses something called "Spam-O-Matic", which according to the forum site at this moment claims: 495511 Spammers Denied Registration 1212 Spammers Permanently Banned 1210 Spammers submitted to StopForumSpam 8146 Spammy Posts Automatically Moderated Wrong forum, X moon uses the free PHPBB and your suggested addon only works with vBulletin How ever there is a addon for phpBB called Anti Spam ACP : https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=1677275, dont know how it makes it safe though. I still recommend using Q&A when registering, helped me stop spam wars at at least to of the environments ive set up for organizations. |

Yep, thanks. I had changed the php, but it does not seem to prevent flooding. Will have to look into it again. |

xpadmin wrote: Banned them. Still wonder why this kind of spam is worth their efforts. Whoever hires them obviously has no marketing skills. Frankly, when it comes to any kind of spam I don't buy the product on principle since I don't wish to support that kind of marketing. That and I don't trust buying half the crap they're talking about, even if I understand what it is they're talking about. An ad on a banner is fine, but filling a board with immense amounts of ads is just bad business. |

I've only ever taken one marketing class, and it was in high school. One of the things that I was taught was that after so many airings of a commercial, it quickly looses it's effectiveness as more and more people get bored of seeing it. Spam is the textbook definition of how not to do marketing... and I mean high school textbook definition... |
